Els nostres sostres lliscants es caracteritzen per moure's en pendent, bé ascendent o descendent. El seu disseny és completament plà, tot i que la seva instal·lació ha de realitzar-se amb no menys d'un 5% de pendent.Pot tractar-se d'una sola porció en moviment o d'un sostre dividit en diverses porcions escamotejables. Els materials emprats pel seu tancament són múltiples: vidre cambra, policarbonat cel·lular o massís, panell sandvitx, panell acústic interior, etc, etc,..
